Era Publications is an educational publisher, specialising in levelled readers for junior and primary school children. This project consisted of a major, ground-up rebuild of the company’s website, updating the public face of the company, and streamlining a number of internal business practices.

During this re-design, the focus was on simplifying the layout by organising content into a clear, consistent hierarchy. This helped prevent overcrowding of content, especially on the home page, and the endless struggle for user attention.

Due to the complexity of the data, and a number of unique constraints, we chose to develop this site as a custom Ruby on Rails application, allowing for maximum flexibility. The layout was also designed to be as responsive as possible, adapting itself to browsers and devices, and ensuring the design stays relevant in the future.
